Universal Astrology Revealed

First, "Universal Astrology" legitimizes all "systems" of astrology. "Anchoring Principles", "Anchoring Techniques", Anchoring Processes", "Anchoring Conditions" and "Anchoring Moments" are more important than individual systems.

In "Universal Astrology" it is understood that the basic building blocks of astrology are the same regardless of the systems used. Here is an analogy. Whether you build a house in the United States, China, India, South America -- if the house is going to stand and be structurally sound, the same principles of architecture must be followed. Dwellings must be erected with supports on four corners, buttressed in certain ways, be built on flat ground, with a pitched roof, et cetera. If these rules of architecture are not followed, natural laws like gravity, rainfall, erosion will destroy the house quickly. These are the constants of architecture, the mechanical underpinnings that allow for the structure to stand solid and sturdy.

"Anchoring Principles" - No matter which system you are using, the Sun is always referred to in the same way – so is Venus – so is the Moon, Mars, et cetera. The same is the case with astrology houses, the common reference points as measured from the rising sign. They will be the same no matter which system you're using. The eighth house will always be just about to disappear below the horizon, the 10th house will be right overhead, et cetera. The same is true with the astrology signs and/or stellar portions of the sky.

By going deeply into each Anchoring Principle - by focusing on the common, holistic principles they share - an enormous amount of depth is revealed. This depth focuses any system of astrology, because it is deeper than the systems themselves. Anchoring Principles are like the brick and mortar that allow a Chinese architect to build a home in Texas or France, using Chinese or Western architecture.

"Anchoring Principle of the Moon"

The capacity to Receive, Feel and Integrate
comes from the moon. A life of heart centered
connection and peace of mind is the goal of the Moon.
Dismantling our emotional protective strategies
with vulnerability and courage gives rise to the
innocent, perceptive mind of the present moment. This
purity and innocence refers to the core of s
elfless love and peace we are becoming.

"Anchoring Techniques"  - Organizing these principles into common, clear techniques is the challenge before us. I have begun this path already. I have devised close to 20 Anchoring Techniques that are based on the common principles of astrology. These Anchoring Techniques are based more on the common, core qualities in Astrology and the holistic universe itself. These techniques work for any system. They are based on the deeper attributes of the planets, the elements, the spatial relationship between planets, signs and houses in the three dimensional universe, and other factors outlined in "Universal Astrology".

Using a combination of Anchoring Principles and Anchoring Techniques students of any path of astrology will immediately deepen their understanding. I think the single biggest challenge facing astrology students today is they lack techniques that help them organize the overwhelming amounts of information they have gathered. It has been my experience that students do not need more information, they need clear and concise methods and approaches that help them integrate what they (think they have) learned. The Anchoring Techniques in "Universal Astrology" are such methods. Not only are they clear, concise and accurate in their own right, but they provide a powerful structure of support for whatever methods and techniques are applied later.

Additionally, there is the "Anchoring Process" that alludes to the ever evolving consciousness within us that is being expressed astrologically. It is not enough to simply be able to give a planetary assessment or profile in the moment. We must be able to project the growth of astrological indicators into the future. But first we have to understand the goals and growth processes of any given planet, sign or house. I have found this type of explanation to be sorely lacking in most astrology books. In fact, I've never seen it explained properly – if at all.

Life is a process of evolution. Each of the planets is a specific energy in that evolutionary process. Anchoring Processes Deepen our understanding of where the planet, sign or house is trying to lead us. This allows us to more effectively suggest remedies, because we will better understand the psycho-spiritual goals of any astrological situation.

“Anchoring Process of Mars”

From fighting to strengthen the physical body (Tamas) to
surmounting external challenges and conflicts (Rajas) to the
disciplined yogi, courageously facing their deepest
self (Sattwa) is the Anchoring Process of Mars”.

"Anchoring Conditions" bring relevance back to actual space/time reference points that a two-dimensional astrology chart hopes to convey and that the skilled Astrologer hopes to decipher. The proximity of planets to the Earth, Moon, and Sun, the Angles (Directions) Each other, etc. and other important Phenomena such as Night Birth / Day Birth, Planets Above / Below the Horizon, Retrograde, Combust (The Sun), and other reference points take precedence over specific, minute details of each system or bewildering calculations. System specific Details and calculations are important within each system though for sure, allowing astrologers to make accurate, specific predictions. Yet without understanding "Anchoring Conditions", those predictions will often lack meaning for the client.

One of the most important "Anchoring Principles" is the "Moon Principle". The moon anchors our psychology. It is the subtle bridge between our Earthly perceptive mind and the ultimate Soul nature we are becoming. The Proximity of Planets to the Moon will condition our capacity to Receive (before the Moon) Feel (Joined the Moon) and Integrate (After the Moon). Also planets in angles from the Moon will provide a structure for the psychology.

Excluding The Sun and the Lunar Nodes we find:

Venus Rises Before the Moon
Mercury Joins The Moon
Mars Rises After the Moon
Saturn in the Fourth from The Moon
Jupiter in the 10th from the Moon

"Anchoring Moments" relate to the current astrological weather. Stated in more common language, these are transits and other the dynamic astrology factors ("Anchoring Conditions" are more static from the native chart). Again, when viewed through the lens of "Universal Astrology", transits will have an absolute position to a birth chart or an event chart regardless of the system being used. Therefore, a deep understanding of the anchoring environment will supersede reliance on individual systems, deepening the connection to the universe directly.

"Anchoring Principles", "Anchoring Techniques",
"Anchoring Processes", "Anchoring Conditions"
and "Anchoring Moments" are the five main
components of "Universal Astrology"

Comments about "The Ascendant- 108 Planets of Vedic Astrology"

"Sam Geppis new text, The Ascendant brilliantly explores each of the twelve Vedic lagnas in great depth. This is an excellent book for both beginning and intermediate level students. The Ascendant provides needed research
and access to one of the most important and fundamental keys in Vedic natal chart analysis."

"While many authors have attempted to explain the basic rules of a planets behavior as a house lord, Sadasiva is the first to produce a book explaining the very specific, and often times surprising, detailed rules given by Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra for each planet in each ascendant, revealing how all the planets combine to create the nature, character, growth and evolution of the ascending sign."

UNIVERSAL ASTROLOGY
TESTIMONIALS:

Below are testimonials from students who have been learning
"Universal Astrology".

Most of these testimonials were written after only two classes.

I want to echo Lhynn’s sentiment expressed in tonight’s class --

“I am learning so much here, I have never learned anything of this depth in an Astrology
class before in such a short amount of time.”

I agree.  For one thing this is much, much, more then just an Astrology class.  It feels
really sacred… like spiritual practice….. again, probably because of it’s ties to Yoga
and Ayurveda.  It certainly makes me want to recommit to deepening those personal
practices within my life. I feel in the potential of understanding this "Universal Astrology",
incredible personal transformational implications akin to alchemy- the truth of which I
can not consciously fathom with my mind as it is now.  Something in me senses that if
I dive deeply into it this practice and marinate in it, at the very least I will be able to
show up for life in a deeper, more authentic, more empowered way and, that this practice
of Vedic “Universal” Astrology, will inspire some profound glimpses into the true nature of
being- that interconnectedness of everything and everyone.  What greater gift is there?
A deep, heartfelt thank you for sharing your knowledge with such passion and
compassion.

My experience with Sam's "Universal Astrology" tele-classes has so far been amazing. He's clarity, humor, knowledge is very inspiring and uplifting.
There is no drama in his approach to charts and a lot of demystification and
clarification about the language (sometimes "scary") of the old/classic texts which were written in different times. Their actuality and validity can be reviewed through new eyes for our "modern" world....and Sam is doing an exceptional job in this.

The way we have approached charts' reading in the classes has surpassed my
expectations and has helped view the overall picture from different angles.
I would highly recommend Sam's teachings/classes for anyone who's either just starting with Jyotish as well as advanced students.

Sam Geppi has a unique voice in Astrology today where he's managed to adapt his knowledge and his wisdom from Western and Vedic astrology, Yoga, and many other sources combined. The result is that his approach is groundbreaking in the sense that he doesn't divide people but bring them together.

Sam is both pragmatic and holistically minded at the same time. I feel that it is Sam's unique visionary quality of spirit and fresh viewpoint that enables him to provide us with new techniques that are mind-blowingly practical and to the point. I think they benefit the professional astrologer as much as the beginner or advanced student.
Sam has very special gifts to share and as a student of Vedic I feel lucky and privileged to be able to learn from him and I've already been able to adapt his techniques successfully.

I have been studying Vedic Astrology on my own with tons of books and also using the net which his how I came across Sam. Everyday I would tune into his Daily Forecast which then intrigued me to purchase his book "The Ascendant 108 Planets of Vedic Astrology". This book is THE most detailed book on the accendants. I just started taking Sam's "Universal Astrology" class and for me the way he ties all the details
together in order to better read a chart is amazing...and this is only my second class!!! WOW!!! Needless to say this will not be my last class.

As a student in Sam Geppi's Universal Astrology class I must say that I have learned a great deal in a very short time to help me understand mine and others charts..I did western astrology before taking this class and I never saw the reasons why I was like or acted in certain manners, relationships etc . His teaching has brought all this into my life in a few lessons. Sam is a excellent teacher and I appreciate him giving his gifts thru these sevices to others!

I have been taking the astrology class with Sam Geppi and have been amazed at the information that I have never found in any of my vedic books and I have several. I have been studying for approx 10 years on my own - not good enough!  Have to need to have a teacher and Sam is the one to have.

Sam has broken down the planets into tiny little pieces and then put them all
together into a very alive beings.  I love the way he has made the planets come to life for me and how in only 4 classes my understanding has deepened 10 fold.  I am so looking forward to more and more classes in the future with Sam.

Thanks Sam!

I am a western astrologer who has been interested in Vedic astrology for many years and was pleased to hear that Sam was offering his "Universal Astrology" classes online.  I find Sam's unique way of conveying the "anchoring principles" that he is presenting in class to be both illuminating and exciting.  What I thought that I knew intellectually concerning some of the basic principles of astrology have taken on a whole new meaning on many levels and that's just in the first two weeks.  Thank you, Sam.  Please keep it coming!
